Learn More about our GED Progam

Who is eligible to enroll at Takoda GED?

All are welcome at Takoda GED, but like any other GED prep site, you must be 17 or over and not enrolled in a high school to receive tutoring.

How much does Takoda GED cost?

All of our tutoring services are offered at no-cost! Each GED test costs $30 to take; however, discounts are available to lower the cost of each test.

How do I get started?

Stop in any time during our business hours to begin your enrollment. You should bring your Social Security card and a government issued ID.

What time is Takoda GED open?

Our hours run from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday

What if my schedule doesn’t allow me to attend class every day?

Takoda GED is flexible to accommodate your busy life. There are no attendance requirements. Instead, you set your schedule and work at a pace that complements your learning style.

Do you help with transportation?

If you need help with transportation, we offer transportation assistance to those who qualify.

Do you offer childcare?

Unfortunately, we do not offer day care in our building. If you are having trouble finding childcare while attending Takoda GED, our instructors will work with you to secure affordable childcare so you can focus on attaining your GED.

How long will it take for me to get my GED?

We measure progress through the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and test for progress each 40 hours of instruction. Our instructors recommend attending tutoring sessions for 25 hours each week for consistent progress and on average, GED students require 300-350 hours of tutoring before they take their GED exams. However, Takoda has no set timeline for earning your GED. Everyone at Takoda starts at different levels and progresses at their own pace.
